Policies & Procedures
Miss Linda’s School of Dance opened its doors in the fall of 1994, with its very first recital taking place on June 6, 1995. That inaugural performance featured approximately 40 students presenting 18 unique dance numbers—marking the beginning of a vibrant and growing dance community.
Over the years, our studio has continued to evolve to better serve the students and families in the communities we call home. As our programs have expanded, we are proud to now offer a competitive component that gives dancers the opportunity to explore the competition side of the industry while studying a wide range of dance styles. Each fall season, our competition teams eagerly prepare to take the stage once again.
In September 2014, we were thrilled to open a second location in Dorchester, located in the heart of Adams Village at 771 Adams Street. This expansion allowed us to welcome even more dancers into the Miss Linda’s family.Miss Linda’s School of Dance operates from September through our annual recital in June and follows local school vacation schedules.
Families receive a monthly email newsletter with important dates, updates, and studio information, and we encourage everyone to review it carefully to stay connected and informed.
Please take the time to review this handbook carefully. If you have any questions, we encourage you to reach out to Linda or a member of our teaching staff.
With over 30 years of successful operation, we have developed clear policies and procedures that allow our studio to run smoothly and provide the best possible experience for our dancers. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and support.
Please note that some class uniforms and shoe requirements have changed this year. Be sure to review those sections carefully, and do not hesitate to ask if you need clarification.

1
Attendance Policy
Consistent attendance is essential for student progress and class success. Students who miss more than four classes may be asked to withdraw, as repeated absences make it difficult to maintain class structure and properly rehearse routines. Attendance is taken at the beginning of each class.
2
Snow Days & Inclement Weather
Miss Linda’s School of Dance no longer follows the Boston Public School snow day policy. In the event of inclement weather, updates will be posted on our website and Facebook page. Please check for announcements before traveling to class.
3
Open Classroom Policy
For the safety and focus of our dancers, parents and guardians are not permitted inside the studio during class time.
4
Communication
All studio communication—including billing, newsletters, class changes, and cancellations—will be sent via email. Please ensure your current email address is on file to avoid missing important updates.
